Duck River Distillery

Read Description

Our mission is to provide fine spirits from grains that we grow and produce on our farms in Tennessee. We will be located on the banks of the Duck River, which is a place where we like to spend quality time with our family and friends. Our recipe has been passed down through the generations from an old Confederate recipe. This recipe is the very same that Nathan Bedford Forrest and his soldier's enjoyed in their spare time. We choose only the finest grains to produce our products.

George Dickel Distillery

Read Description

In 1870, George A. Dickel founded his distillery in Cascade Hollow outside of Tullahoma TN. Declaring his whisky of equal quality to the finest scotch, George Dickel followed in the Scottish tradition of spelling whisky without an “e.” By 1904, under the leadership of Augusta Dickel, the distillery had become the largest in Tennessee. Although Prohibition became federal law in 1919, it was enacted in Tennessee nine years prior. The distillery was closed, and for nearly four decades the world would go without George Dickel Tennessee Whisky. In 1958, Master Distiller Ralph Dupps rebuilt the distillery. To ensure the whisky's authenticity, Dupps obtained the original manuscripts in which George Dickel had detailed his unique recipe and process. Today, Distiller Allisa Henley carries on the tradition of excellence that has made our brand a symbol of quality for over 130 years.

Even though it's home to the Distillery, it's a dry county and has been ever since Prohibition. And while the Distillery may be the main attraction here, you don't want to miss other local favorites like lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House and a trip to the Lynchburg Hardware & General Store. If you want to explore all the sights in Lynchburg, take your time. There's plenty to see.

Leiper’s Fork Distillery

Read Description

At Leiper’s Fork Distillery we are passionately committed to creating superior whiskeys with signature taste. Our two core spirits under production are Tennessee Whiskey and bourbon. We use locally grown grain, limestone filtered water, traditional techniques and attention to detail to create these premium small batch whiskies. Our whiskey is aged in 53 gallon charred white oak barrels for five to seven year; maybe longer.

Our “Still House” is a 5,000 square foot timber frame structure housing a 500 gallon swan neck pot still and cypress fermentation tanks. The look and feel of our distillery harkens back to an era before the industrial revolution when large wooden structures were used as commercial spaces.

You can purchase a tour of Leiper’s Fork Distillery which includes a sampling of whiskey in our tasting room. Leiper’s Fork Distillery merchandise is available for purchase in our retail store. The retail and tasting rooms are located in a historic log home originally built in circa 1820-1825 by one of our mid-state settlers. We are proud of our whiskey and our facility and look forward to sharing our passion with your when you visit. We are open Tuesday-Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 pm. Our first tour of the day begins at 10 a.m. Tours continue at the top of every hour with the last tour of the day at 4 p.m. Tours & Tastings are approximately 50 minutes.

Prichards Distillery

Read Description

Prichard’s Distillery incorporated in 1997 with their award-winning aged American rum in hand. They opened their first distillery in 1999 in the historic Kelso, Tennessee schoolhouse. Five generations ago in 1822, Granddaddy Benjamin Prichard of Davidson County, TN left his still, tubs, utensils and techniques of the craft to his son Enoch. Suffice it to say that long before they became a “legal” distiller, the Prichard family was known to make the best whiskey in the area. When descendant Phil Prichard opened Prichard’s Distillery in Kelso, TN, he restored a lost art form. The Prichard family continues to produce some of the finest tasting rums and Tennessee whiskey in America.
